Only 10 minutes away on foot! Known as Calgary’s restaurant row, 4th Street SW boasts over 35 restaurants from countries all over in the world. In 13 short blocks we feature dining, shopping, entertainment, art, medical services, business services, and a hip young exciting energy. 4th Street is nestled in the middle of the Mission and Cliff Bungalow Communities between historic sites and new urban development which is what makes our street so unique. River Grande Estates residents can take in the annual Lilac Festival without worrying about parking!


17th Avenue SW

The Calgary Stampede


Our friendliest neighbours once a year! For 10 days in early July every year, the Old West returns to Calgary. This city-wide celebration is often referred to as the greatest outdoor show on earth! In addition to Chuckwagon races and one of the world’s largest rodeos, the Calgary Stampede offers free breakfasts, square dancing, midway games, an authentic Indian village, re-created frontier town, and dazzling fireworks display.


Reader Rock Garden and the Reader’s Garden Cafe


Take a stroll in the nearby historic garden which is a tribute to one man’s passion for plants and beauty. William Roland Reader was the Superintendent for The City of Calgary Parks from 1913 – 1942 who transformed a bare hillside into an internationally-acclaimed garden. Stop in for a delicious lunch at the Garden Cafe while you are there.


Lindsay Park


River Grande Estates has a group membership in the local Lindsay Park Community Association which currently represents the interests of the area residents north of 25th Avenue SW. The organization is focused on development issues in the immediate are of River Grande Estates and the adjacent condo developments.


Erlton Community


The Erlton Community Association (ECA) is the original community association for all of the Erlton area.  River Grande Estates owners and residents may also join this organization which meets regularly and deals with all  local community concerns as well as offering planned social activities.


Calgary Transit


Just two blocks to the Erlton LRT station and one block from several bus routes! Calgary Transit has been moving Calgarians since 1909 – that’s over 90 years of service! Over the next century we will continue to change and grow with Calgary, as we have for the past century. Calgary’s transit service was responsible for many aspects of Calgary’s growth and development.


MNP Community & Sports Centre


The MNP Community & Sports Centre (also known as the Lindsey Park Centre) is just across the street from River Grande Estates so no need to drive! Training, fitness, healthy lifestyles, competition,and personal bests. A leader in the sport and recreation industry, the MNP Centre represents all of these goals and more. Calgary is one of the most active, vibrant cities in Canada—and the MNP Centre is the hub of that energy. First opened in 1983, the MNP Centre has become the second most widely visited multi-sport facility in North America through innovative programming and leading-edge technology.
